Do you have a staff photographer that shoots these? or are they submitted? The quality and the fact that they look like they were purpose shot for the homepage leads me to think staff photographer. They look amazing, but I'm a sucker for good photography.

@jsurrat Fixed and fixed. Now that you have uploaded the previous version of the site I grabbed a "before" shot for the "before/after" & the sreenshots are automated, so sometimes we catch a transition. It is all tidied now.

I was informed that the site is having some dramatic server issues so to keep the site up they had to revert to this image based design until they are able to solve the problems.

The design is not bad, but the whole MSU News & MSU Highlights section is a single image. I might not have noticed except the whole area is suffering from jpeg artifacts. It looks like the entire page was just sliced from Photoshop trapping important text in images without alt text. Take some time a redevelop it using proper html/css and it'll be a much better site.
