Personally, I'm not sure I could look at these colors long enough to complete the project... but, from the few seconds that I spent on the site (before it burned my retina) it seemed well done.
I like the green background, but would like to see a different color with it then purple because the combination doesn't say education to me as much as arts and crafts. The shape used to hold the logo and the quick links does carry a theme throughout the site, but its doesn't add anything to the site or provide any interest. I think what is adding to the boredom I feel is probably the fact that when you go throughout the site the only thing that changes is the image and the content. I am all for consistency, but with the layout they have, it is event more obvious that nothing changes.
