We are introducing this dynamic campus map site (Virtual Skidmore) as a new way to see Skidmore. The creation of the application has been a joint effort of the Skidmore web team and Dumbwaiter Design in Rochester, NY. The application allows us to add/remove any aspects of the map as needed. For each building, we can load multiple, images, movies, events and departments. We can also add as many points on the local and regional maps as we desire as well.
I really like this site, though it would be nice if the navigation on the side (to other parts of the web site) didn't open a pop-up window. Some browsers will automatically try to prevent those from opening, and since all the links appear to be on the same web site, it doesn't make much sense to have those open in a new window.
Now THIS is a great use of Flash done really really well. It doesn't go over the top with things, it showcases the information in a very slick and intuitive format, I love it. I will agree with dturner though that I didn't like the links on the home page opening in a new window.

Nice tie-in of different kinds of content and very slick design and interface. I like the idea that it's modular and can be maintained.

It's great to see HigherEd going hip. Go Skidmore!
Best campus map I've seen.
