This site is absolutely gorgeous!
I think this is one (of several) site that looks a lot better as a screenshot than it does when you're actually looking at it in a browser. The bird graphic/photo is stunning though.
Beautiful color palette and imagery, but the navigation is a big issue. There is a disconnect from the home page to the interior that leaves the user wondering where the heck they are. Clicking on any of the table of contents send you to the proper page, but it is not label with the section name, just the feature name. To make matters worse, the navigation moves from the right to the left and fails to highlight which section you are currently in. I like how the visited sections are checked on the current issue landing, but that does not happen on the interior pages.
Classy palette, interactive. Balance of artsy with scientific.
I like the site, but the images are a little big for 1024x768.
Great colouring and layout
I really like the use of color and photos in this site.
