How to influence the eduStyle Awards

Posted March 12th, 2008 by Stewart Foss

eduStyle AwardsWe are one week into the eduStyle awards and things are shaping up well. Since announcing the awards over 200 people have registered as eduStyle users and several hundred individual nominations have been submitted. A few sites are starting to rise to the top in many of our categories, but it is still early and the final nominees are far from decided. There are a few ways that you can influence the final list of nominations is each category.

1) Nominate a several sites
While there are a lot of nominations rolling in, many users have opted to only nominate one site and many of the most popular sites on eduStyle are yet to receive any nominations. Part of what makes these awards so interesting is that you can nominate any site that you think is deserving of an award. So please browse through the gallery and pick a few sites in addition to your own award worthy sites that you think need to be recognized. This will allow us, as a community, to give awards to the best of the best (I’m in no way implying that your sites isn’t the best). The more sites you nominate the more weight your nominations will hold.

2) Add votes and comments to the sites you nominate
The final list of nominees will be decided based on a few criteria. My Style Votes, Not My Style Votes, Comments, and past recognition with a monthly Noteworthy award may all be used to help decide on the final list of nominees. So to make sure the sites you love make it into the nominations go vote and comment on them. It’ll all be taken into consideration, especially in the categories that are too close to call.

Stay tuned, over the next several weeks we’ll be making some announcements about judges. If you have any suggestions on who you think would make a good judge, please send me a note.
